I don't have too much time. We have a full day again today with a Hop-on-Hop-off tour and a Scottish tea hosted by Victoria this afternoon.
We arrived at St Andrews early. Not too many people around and the set up is amazing. Hospitality tents, shops, food stalls, bars, huge television sets. We basically did our own thing as some players had already finished their practice round. It was great coming across players by mistake. Michael wanted to walk the entire course which we did. Jordan Spieth is man of the moment and the crowds, press and photographers following him was pretty frightening. In the end we were trying to avoid them but they kept popping up all over.
Unfortunately a tad pricey. A plate of hot chips for us for lunch. Our hosts the night before had packed us up a snack pack which was much appreciated after we paid R78 for a plate of chips!
We went up on the main grand stand to see the start of the four hole competition but it was too far away - we went down and followed Ernie and Phil for 3 of the 4 holes. Unfortunately we had to leave before the finish to catch our bus.
We had some close up moments and I enjoyed the Spanish player Raffa (forget the surname). What a friendly guy. Chatted to the crowds, posed with fans and Michael looked at me in dismay when I said that I hoped he would win!
I will try and get some more pictures loaded. I have to go. We eant to go and surprise Victoria at her work before we leave. The golf is on TV here already. Going to be hard to get Michael out the door.
Lots of love
