The hydration is worrying me. Talk of heat waves and all that and worse still the talk of £4 for a glass of wine boggles my brain a bit. A month long holiday with the rand in the sad way it is, is going to be hard. I am happy to eat Grape Nuts (my best and only £2.50 at Tescos) all day but I have never really been an 'a glass of wine' girl. Suppose adding the cheap and cheerful Argentinian wine to the Tescos basket and hanging around park benches while sightseeing could work. Are you allowed to drink in parks in London? This is a serious question.
The packing is going well and I am being quite ruthless. 5 outfits and 2 smarter ones. Never in a place for more than 5 days and only Michael's Yorkshire family may notice our same Monday to Friday outfits being worn once again in Canada (maybe it will confuse them if I wear them in reverse order).
Will I fit everything in this case?
Also what book or books to take for the plane? This is my bedside 'to read' pile. Which would you recommend? Also trying desperately to finish two other books from book club but not sure that will happen.
I am also battling to blog on my iPad. I loaded the Blogger app but promptly lost the whole post.
Another revelation is that I am also trying to start only using one space after a full stop but this is proving difficult as well. Nic will be happy and awhile back he sent me this article but years of work in a legal office getting out of the two space habit goes against the grain.
I LOVED Us and it's the perfect summer holiday read, as it's about a summer holiday. If it was me, I'd take an Ian Rankin to read in Scotland. And are you going to New York? If so, Just Kids would be perfect. Add a Wodehouse for English humour while in England... sorted!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet (the only one to reply to my request for advice on books). So many though? When am I going to drink? I have done my usual thing when I have much to do, I started some non-stop reading yesterday and have about 50 pages left of Us. Sorry I did not save it for the flight. Johnathon Tropper? Bush Falls must be in my Top 20. Thanks so much. Xx
