day eleven - yorkshire to leicester

We arrived at Janet in Leicester yesterday in time for lunch. Her home is exactly as I pictured it from her blog (but bigger), it is also filled with books and all her clever crafty work with fonts and maps. I will take some pictures later.

We had a lovely walk through a park yesterday, looked at some quaint shops in a road close to the university, stopped for a cider (half pint for Michael) at Janet's local pub and did some people watching from the pavement. A lovely way to catch up with Janet.

We got back home and soon Thomas arrived. Great to meet him at last and what a lovely guy (a Scotsman from Glasgow). Janet had prepared a vegan lasagna which was delicious, we drank a bottle Prosecco, ate strawberries and all in all a lovely chilled day (just what Michael needs before a long night in London with Matt and an early start to get to Heathrow tomorrow morning).

I also still have a few things to buy before we leave the UK. Mom, I have been looking all over for Aunty Veronica's Ponds Cold Cream. Boots don't have it and I have tried many other chemists, no luck. Googled it and Superdrugs may stock it, so hopefully ii can get it. Amy wants Pear Drops which also seem to be like hens teeth and as for Gareth and his request for 5kgs of Maltesers, I am not sure !!  I have also not been into and H&M or found a Primart.

Been a late start today, so here are the pictures from yesterday.

Pot plants and window boxes abound
War Memorial in the middle of the park
For Mom, Gareth and Tom - so many bowls greens all over
Doughnut nectarines! I will be tasting one soon
and peaches
Cherries are the best
Cider on the sidewalk

Lovely day. Thanks for everything Janet.
