Almost the final countdown but only on Thursday could I start getting excited about this trip. After problems with Home Affairs and trying to track my passport and then the usual difficulty and admin involved in getting a Canadian visa, our passports are now in our possession. I am off to the travel agent this morning to collect our itinerary and oyster cards.
"Next year July" is all but here and because the trip seemed like a very distant happening when it was discussed and planned last year, it is now time to get excited. Poor Michael shudders every time his cell phone sends him a message from the bank to say that money has been spent. He even had a call from the Absa Fraud Department checking that certain payments were legit. In half an hour I had spent a wack online on express train tickets from London to Glasgow, theatre tickets for Broadway, bus tickets in the UK and USA and a travel hairdryer from takealot.com!!
So on 9 July Michael and I are off overseas for a month.
This is exactly what I need to get me back in the swing of blogging again. I had lost my mojo and everything I was writing seemed so mundane that I did not have the confidence to publish my hours of writing. My friend Cheryl in New Zealand had an amazing trip through Europe last year and kept me entertained via Facebook of what she was doing. I thought I would start a separate travel blog so that it would also double up as my travel diary.
Before we leave though there is still plenty of wine to sell and so much to still tick off the list. Let me not waffle on.
An overseas trip! We are off to the England, Scotland, New York, Boston and Canada and this is exactly what I need to get me back into the habit of blogging again. I hope you enjoy the build up and want to come travelling with me
